Back in the 1800s, Ealing was hailed as the ‘Queen of the Suburbs’ when the railways expanded to outer London, and the upcoming Crossrail expansion looks set to make the area even more desirable. With commute times ready to be cut significantly (12 minutes to Bond Street and under 20 minutes to Canary Wharf), Ealing Broadway will become transformed by city professionals looking to spend their money around Ealing. When can we expect the station to be finished?
- Until the end of 2017 – Platform extension
- November 2018 – Renovation of station front façade
- December 2019 – Line opening
The trains are estimated to be 200 meters long, roughly the size of two football pitches, with the ability to walk from one end to the other. There will be no toilets on the train, however new toilet facilities are being built in Ealing Broadway station itself, as well as many improved staircases and a new ticket hall twice the size of the existing one.
