Are you Summer ready?

Summer is well and truly on its way here in West London, and with the Bank Holiday coming up now is a great time to start thinking about your garden. One of the greatest things about nice weather is being able to dine al fresco, so here are Northfields’ top tips on making the most of compact outdoor spaces with a summer barbecue in mind.

Choose a BBQ

Although this isn’t a problem solely limited to compact garden spaces, no-one wants to be stuck in the kitchen making lengthy recipes while everyone else is outside enjoying themselves. These easy, delicious recipes are perfect when you’re entertaining.

Try these recipes from the two James’:

Jamie Oliver’s Mexican corn on the cob

James Martin’s easy Greek chicken skewers

Ingredients:
2 cornfed chicken thighs and breasts, sliced into 4 pieces each
1 large bunch mint
1 large bunch dill
1 large bunch oregano
200ml thick greek natural yoghurt
2 limes juice of
salt and pepper
100ml greek olive oil
2 large courgettes, cut into 8 pieces
To serve;
8 cos lettuce leaves
4 tomatoes, cut into chunks
half a cucumber, cut into chunks
Day before: Blitz the herbs, oil, lime juice, yoghurt and seasoning and coat the chicken. Keep in fridge.
Day of BBQ: Skewer the chicken, the courgette, the chicken again or make it up as you go along. BBQ for 15mins until lightly charred. Place all the salad ingrediants on a platter, top with the chicken and drizzle more olive oil. Bish bash bosh and serve!
