This week three of our Northfields team volunteered for the British Heart Foundation's "Love Installations" fundraising event.
Helena, Edyta and Leah asked Londoners with big hearts to lock in their love in the name of heart health.
All you have to do is pay a suggested minimum donation of £3 to write a heart-felt message on a heart-shaped fob, attached to a red lock and seal your sentiment by locking it to an especially created eye-catching structure for all to see.
The 2.5 metre tall galvanised steel letters of love will be on display throughout February in Covent Garden Market. The perfect place to visit on Valentine’s Day!
Not only will the BHF Love Installation allow you to declare your love for someone in a genuine and meaningful way but you will be helping the British Heart Foundation in its mission to continue to help save lives.
Our staff at Northfields became involved with the BHF when our very own Sharon Shankster and Noura Mehdinejad saved the life of a carpet fitter working in our Northfield Avenue office in January 2012. Thanks to the British Heart Foundation commercial starring Vinnie Jones, Sharon proceeded to lay him on his back and administer CPR compressions ‘on the sovereign’ as taught in the advert. Noura sang “Stayin’ Alive” as advised by the advert to make sure the rhythm of the compressions were at the correct speed.
Sharon and Noura were recognised as life savers by the British Heart Foundation in a special photo shoot with Vinnie Jones himself.
And our team continues to try and save lives with our fundraising efforts. This is the second year we’ve participated in Love Installations and we hope our efforts will help more people.
If you can make it down to Covent Garden Market before the end of February please buy a love lock and give as much as you can. Then take photos of the Love Installations and share with friends on social media. Share the love @TheBHF #BHFLove and remember to let us know that we inspired you to give from the heart by tweeting us @Northfieldslive
