A few words about The Log Cabin from our CEO - Richard Palfreeman
The Log Cabin Charity is a place where 300 local children and young people with additional needs or disabilities can socialise, grow and have fun alongside their mainstream peers.
Established in 1980 by Margaret Lorde, a former Mayor of Ealing, this independently-run charity offers affordable after-school care and school holiday activities, providing respite for parents and carers.
With a strong focus on inclusivity, they will welcome all children regardless of ability or emotional, physical, behavioural and learning disabilities, allowing them to play and make new friends, and preventing those with additional needs from becoming socially isolated. Creating a space where children can play together leads to more resilient and creative communities.
This year The Log Cabin have faced unprecedented challenges. They want to ensure that they can continue to offer services to the many local families who depend on them in the community. As a small charity, with a big heart they impact hundreds of families in Ealing and their services ensure children with additional needs and disabilities can enjoy after school and holiday clubs and make friends within the community, whilst offering respite and short term breaks for families.
Without donations, their crucial work cannot continue. As a charity (charity registration no. 1174220) they rely on grants, community fundraising and rentals to keep their operations running. This year, they have faced an unimaginable drop in revenue, but kept their doors open to help the most vulnerable members of our community.
They need your help now. Any amount you can donate is much appreciated.
