I work part time for the lettings side of Northfields Estates for the last five years. My job is to negotiate between landlords and tenants at the time of renewing and extending a tenancy. I also receive notice from tenants who wish to use their break clause and end their tenancy and we then return the property to market. Similarly, I have the job of serving formal notice on tenants to end a tenancy and talking them through their different options and how we can help them move forward with finding a new home to move to.
I fell into working for Northfields by turning up for the wrong interview but with a background in customer service I was the ideal candidate for the position. The best part of my job is that no day is ever the same as the last making each day fun and challenging. I work alone and this gives me the chance to sing along (always out of tune of course) to my favourite radio station, Sunshine radio Dublin.
I love to travel and after working many years in the airline business I have been very lucky to have visited many countries and great cities around the world. In my down time from the office I enjoy socialising with friends and family and I practice yoga, love to read and cook but I mostly take pride in the volunteering that I do within the local community.
I am terrible at taking a compliment and receiving gifts but I love to give compliments and gifts and make people feel happy.
I like to live life to the full, take chances and regret nothing.
My favourite place for brunch is The Horseshoe in Northfields, they prepare the best Irish breakfasts especially the great black and white pudding.
Ealing is a great place for entertainment, from going for a walk at dawn in our wonderful parks (I personally love to walk through Walpole park and Lammas park at 6am and feel and see the peace and nature of our beautiful borough). The many clubs and activities for babies, toddlers and children. The fantastic choice of primary and high schools. The many great pubs and restaurants in Ealing. I love to visit The North Star in Ealing Broadway and hear live bands play or The Red Lion on South Ealing Road that brought the most wonderful Italian deli and market to the area during lock down but when the pub is open as normal they have the extra benefit of being able to order from the famous Santa Maria pizza restaurant that is next door to the pub. I shouldn’t forget Flame and Fire restaurant in South Ealing for the most delicious steaks, pasta and fish but be sure to book as they get busy every night of the week. The shopping and easy access to Westfield shopping centre, Oxford Street, Sloane Square, Covent Garden, Carnaby street and New Bond Street makes for fun days out.
The easy access to Heathrow and the great train system to Gatwick and Stanstead if you are lucky to get away on holiday.
We have the wonderful local Questors Theatre for the many different shows and musicals that they produce as well as easy access to the West End for west end musicals, plays, opera, pantomimes, stand-up comedy and concerts.
But my favourite place in Ealing is Radio City that was established in Ealing in 1929 and has been trading from the same shop in Bond Street for 90 years. In a time of recycling and upcycling this is the place to bring your old hair dryer, electric fire, lamps/lights, radio and televisions to bring them back to life, saving you money and the environment.
